Australia Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)

The Australian Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189) is a points-tested permanent residence visa for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer or family member, and not nominated by a state or territory government.

Overview

The Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa grants permanent residence immediately to skilled workers who score enough points on the SkillSelect points test and whose occupation appears on one of Australia's skilled occupation lists. No employer sponsorship or family ties are required. It is one of the most independent immigration pathways available.

Australia is an increasingly popular destination for Israeli tech and engineering professionals, offering a high quality of life, a strong job market, good schools, Mediterranean-like climate in many cities, and a Jewish community of around 120,000.
